We do not charge an entry fee, although we appreciate your donations. Your donations have helped create a fabulous Museum for you to enjoy ! The Museum is comprised of two connected buildings. The west side building was originally a sporting goods store built in the early 1960’s by Bill and Mary Sexton. In the early 1970’s the sporting goods store was bought and remodeled by the City of Show Low to house the city offices, police department and jail. The Show Low Historical Society, founded in 1991, acquired the building in 1993. The work then began to create our museum.
The east side building was the Navajo County Justice Courts and Navajo Planning and Zoning. The Show Low Historical Society Museum acquired the east side building in 2007, with this expansion the museum now has 6,000 sq. ft. of exhibits, 17 separate themed rooms of historic items. Although we look small from the outside, we have thousands of items and photographs on display. The east side is also the home of the SILVERCREEK RAILROAD CLUB exhibit, featuring “The Last Train to Maverick.”
Our gift shop is located in the foyer of the museum. There is no sales tax on gift shop items.
The museum is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization.
The museum gift shop accepts cash, debit or credit card.
We sell local history books, jewelry, How Show Low Got its Name playing cards, magnets, coffee mugs, shot glasses, maps and post cards.
We offer free printed information about surrounding White Mountain communities and their points of interest.
